Mr. Upendra C. Trivedi is a highly accomplished post-graduate in Electrical Engineering with over three decades of distinguished experience in the power sector. As the Director – Technical at Excellent Diagnostic and Research Agency, he leads the firm's efforts in pre- and post-commissioning diagnostics of power apparatus across distribution, transmission, and generation systems.
Mr. Trivedi began his career in 1980 as a Testing Engineer at ABB (formerly known as HBB). He later joined the Electrical Research and Development Association (ERDA) during its formative years, where he played a pivotal role in establishing a wide range of technical services, including EHV testing, power systems, power electronics, and energy audits. His contributions were instrumental in shaping ERDA's technical capabilities, and he superannuated as Joint Director (second only to the CEO/Director of ERDA) after a illustrious career spanning over three decades.
A pioneer in his field, Mr. Trivedi was trained by NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories, Government of India) in its first batch on Quality Management Systems in 1994. He has since made significant contributions to NABL as a member of various committees, document drafter, assessor, and lead assessor—a role he continues to fulfill.
With his extensive expertise in high voltage systems, power systems, diagnostics, and quality management, Mr. Trivedi identified a critical gap in the availability of high-quality diagnostic services in India. This vision led him to establish Excellent Diagnostic and Research Agency in Vadodara, the electrical power hub of India, to deliver world-class diagnostic and research solutions.
